Police

The Scranton Police Department serves the citizens of the City of Scranton with routine patrol, mentoring of youth, community policing, animal control, and investigation of violations of Kansas Law, as well as violations of city ordinance that happen with in the corporate city limits of the City of Scranton. We serve fairly and impartially ensuring that all are treated equal.

Our office is located at 120 W. Boone in City Hall. We highly encourage all citizens to stop by to meet us. We also highly encourage any input from citizens on how we can better serve our community.

Officer Biographies

 

Ted McDaniel
Chief Of Police 884
 
Ted started working for the State of Kansas in 1989 as a Driver License Examiner.  In 2001 he was promoted as a Commercial Driver License examiner until 2005 then he was promoted to the office supervisor.  Ted joined the Scranton Fire Department in 2009 and is currently serving as the Assistant Fire Chief.  Ted obtained his EMT license in 2010 and joined the Osage County EMS as a part time EMT.  Ted joined the Scranton Police Department as a Reserve Officer in December 2013 and was promoted in 2014 to Part Time Patrol Status. Ted is currently the Interim Chief of Police.
